Artist Dan Colen was absurdly drunk when he suggested to Larry Gagosian’s people that they exhibit his paintings in the Chelsea gallery’s potties. Turns out, it was one of his more genius ideas: 5 Bathrooms, 5 Paintings debuted last Friday night, riding -- like a piece of stuck toilet paper – on the heels of celebrated sculptor David Smith’s opening. Here, armed with our camera, Dan hits the party, gets in trouble with several security guards, and takes us on a very private tour of Gagosian’s plumbing system.
