Give that BitTorrent a rest: Not only has New Young Pony Club's highly anticipated EP (S/T on Modular) been released from the gates in the U.S. -- it hit the ground running. As a result, ‘Pony’ is undoubtedly the new ‘Wolf’ of 2007. Breathy lyrics such as Let your girlfriend do what your boyfriend can't' are delivered with a steely sexuality by lead singer Tai. She shares the spotlight with infectious beats delivered on point by the four other ponies.
Handclaps and cowbells abound, beckoning even the stiffest hipster to shake it up. We’re talking the eyes-closed and dance-like-no-one-is-watchin’ manner not seen since the glory days of Tom-Tom Club. ‘Descend’ is an instant trance-inducing anthem, as is ‘Ice Cream’ - the wonder-track that just keeps on spinning.
Style-wise, NYPC has been stamped as New Rave, perhaps simply because the term Disco Punk is so 2004. Don’t break out the glowsticks just yet, though -- this stuff’s as wicked as a joyride jaunt.

The inside scoop:
If one's integrity is reflected by the company one keeps, then surely the same applies for bands and the DJs that remix them. VanShe, Comets and Thee Gang Bang versions of 'Ice Cream' are included on the EP, along with the sexy sugar-shocked video. That’s our kind of surprise!
Hear: "Ice Cream,” from the New Young Pony Club soon to be released New Young Pony Club, exclusively available and free for download on Dusk2Dawn.
