NYC We Are Scientists

We Are Scientists swung through the Annex in the Lower East Side, concluding their seemingly endless world tour, for their album With Love and Squalor. Still riding the tide of their successful debut, it was only appropriate to wrap it up with a midnight gig at an intimate venue surrounded by the friends who 'knew them back when.' The show did not disappoint -- Keith, Chris, and Michael bounded on stage and ripped through a nine-song set. The best part about this band, after their blatant use of kittens as marketing tools, is that they play every tune like it's their last. Openers 'This Scene is Dead' and 'Inaction' paved the way for the crowd-pleaser 'It's a Hit.' There is the question of what’s in store for these scientists as they enter the Brooklyn studio to lay down new material. 'Does anyone have any suggestions for the next album?' Chris asked the crowd with his trademark self-deprecation, 'No really. Got any Clap Your Hands Say Yeah material? I'm not joking.' We have a feeling they don’t need help -- their secret formulas seem to be working just fine.
The inside scoop:
The band recently released an in-demand collection of B-sides and video footage in the UK called 'Crap Attack' that US fans are rabidly awaiting. Check out their acoustic version of 'Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt.'
