NYC Uffie

On a bitter cold New York night near 2am, pint-sized Parisian princess of hip-hop Uffie took the stage (almost two hours late) at the Hiro Ballroom in another edition of GBH and Cheeky Bastard’s resident Thursday night party.  Running on two hours of sleep in three days, and battling bronchitis (two facts she antagonistically reminded the audience every time she felt their energy fading), the perpetually on-tour, hard-partying pixie did what she does best – provoke and entertain.  Thanks to irresistible back-up beats courtesy of her longtime boyfriend, fellow Ed Banger records alum Feadz, for four songs (which included the brand new ‘Hot Chick’) Uffie riled her audience from fatigue to elation.  Before finishing her set, the big-eyed dirty blond – decked out in denim hot pants – managed to bring as many of her fellow partygoers on stage as would fit for a performance of ‘Pop the Glock.’  All in all: well worth-the-wait.
