NYC Ra Ra Riot

Nestled within the unlikely juxtaposition of high-rise buildings, boat masts and an adoring fan base, Ra Ra Riot returned to center stage at New York’s South Street Seaport just one month after the tragic death of the band’s drummer, John Pike. Their first performance since the accident, emotions ran feverously high as teary-eyed fans came in hordes to support the clearly devastated band. But, in true Ra Ra Riot form, feelings quickly shifted as the band’s delightful combination of strings, vocals and “ra ra ra!” stage presence lifted the seaport’s mood amid swaying boats and fans alike.
