NYC Justice

When it comes to Justice - that is, the Paris-based DJ duo fronted by Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay – citing biblical references seems unavoidable. The Ed Banger Records alums' debut self-titled LP - the cover of which is adorned solely with a glowing cross - includes tracks like “Waters of Nazareth” and “Genesis.” Not to mention that, in a matter of months, and prior releasing a record stateside, the group had music-aficionados dubbing them the new messiahs of dance.

True to form, at the band’s most recent NYC show at the Hiro Ballroom, they turned a slightly tired crowd into a frenzied, dancing machine from 2am into the morning hours. Maybe it was de Rosnay’s red leather jacket (which immediately called to mind Michael Jackson circa Thriller), or the fact that their latest single, D.A.N.C.E., references the aforementioned artist’s classic P.Y.T., but, in our minds, they might as well be knighted the new princes of pop.

Special thanks to Hiro Ballroom and Ed Banger Records.
